Ph.D. Program

  • The doctoral degree will prepare graduates for faculty positions in departments such as Behavior Analysis, Rehabilitation, Psychology, and Special Education.  Various clinical and organizational positions can be attained as well.
  • At SIUC, doctoral training is available in Behavior Analysis and Therapy leading to a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation.
  • At the Ph.D. level, students are admitted under direct supervision of a single faculty member.  That faculty member will serve as advisor and dissertation chair for the student.  Matching students to faculty is a key component of the Ph.D. program.  With the match, students are assured of intensive 101 mentoring by the faculty member.

Masters Program

  • SIUC is proud to have been the first behavior analysis masters degree program in the world.  Following this distinction, the program has had a 40 year rich history in the field of behavior analysis and currently holds Association for Behavior Analysis Accreditation.  Only 12 other schools in the world have this same distinction.  None in Illinois do.
  • The Masters Degree coursework is approved by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board, and is designed to provide the student with a well-rounded blend of didactic courses, hands on experience, and research opportunities.  The mixture of classes and field experience result in the graduate having the best possible preparation for the workforce or doctoral training that lies ahead
  • Starting salaries are around $60,000 per year.  Students have a 100% placement rate.
  • What even makes SIU an easier choice for graduate school is that 98-100% of al current students obtained a graduate assistantship which allows for free tuition and a monthly paycheck.
