Dr. Mark R. Dixon is a Professor and the Coordinator of the Behavior Analysis and Therapy Program.
Dr. Dixon received his Ph.D. from the University of Nevada (1998). Mark has authored 3 books, 15 book chapters, and over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles. His research and/or expert opinion has been featured in Newsweek, The New York Times, National Public Radio, and local affiliates of PBS, NBC, and CBS.
Dr. Dixon has been awarded the College Researcher of the Year, Phi Kappa Phi's Scholar of the Year, and the Rehabilitation Institute's Teacher of the Year. During his tenure at SIU Mark has written research and training grants in total of over 1 million dollars.
Dr. Dixon's research on choice, gambling, and self-control has been published in all leading behavioral journals. Mark has also been an Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management. He is also the founder and current Editor of Analysis of Gambling Behavior.
